Future Outlook for Home Care Agencies
According to the US Census Report from 2000, the current year value of companion services is estimated at just over $6 billion. As the Baby Boom population ages, estimates indicate the companion industry to grow past $8 billion. Here are some attractive statistics:
- Since 2011, over 10,000 individuals are turning 65 every single day!
- At the end of 2012, the U.S. population of individuals 65 and older was 42.2 million strong
- By 2030 the US population of 65 and older will almost double to 70 million.
- Increasingly, adult children live more than 50 miles away from their parents and are less capable of providing assistance as a result.
- The US Bureau of Labor reports that the Senior Care Industry is projected to provide three out of the top ten job growth markets well through 2020. THAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW !!!
The Home Care Industry, medical and non-medical inclusive, cater to these boomers and their elderly parents. The time to start your home care agency is TODAY! HOME CARE HOW TO will help you do it!
Seniors Prefer To Age In Place by Staying in Their Own Home!
Would YOU Want to Live In a Nursing Home or Care Facility?
Neither do the growing numbers of seniors who prefer to stay in their own homes as long as possible.
It’s more comfortable at home, studies indicate increased life span and it often costs less than a care facility! In order to stay out of assisted living communities and nursing homes, seniors and their families are actively looking for quality private duty agencies that provide both medical and non medical in home care services.
Here’s What Readers Say About the Book …
I’m Impressed with the Different Options Identified and Explained …
This is a fantastic book for anyone that’s considered starting their own senior care agency or home health agency and not sure where to start. Whether you’d like to start your senior care business from your home or with a formal office.
I like how Brendan identifies the different options that allow you to start your business from numerous approaches. Everything from how to name your company, figuring out the cost of your services, making a start up budget and break even analysis, hiring staff, marketing your services and making the sales, and even business operations tools and forms are included! I also liked the bonus of having a website to download the actual forms and tools discussed to help get up and running quickly. Even if you have never considered becoming an entrepreneur this book may just inspire you to give your dream a shot!
Home Care System Rather Than a Book
I have read this book twice. It contains so much useful information how to start home care business. It is a system rather than a book. Author’s website HomeCareHowTo.com carry downloadable forms and many other resources to start your business.
His sample break even point, employee pay rate and service rate calculation gave me a clear understanding what kind of business I will have in home care service.
It also has far reaching information about financial system, contact management and how to get clients.
Anyone who has interest in home care business should benefit from this little book.
K. Park, California
After reading the first few pages of this book, I felt like asking the author, “what took you so long”? I had been struggling to start my home care business since 2009. I understand this book was published in Summer 2011. If I had this book back then in 2009, my business would have been fully up and running by now. Permit me to say that at this point in time, this book comes next to my Bible. I carry it around and read it over and over at every opportunity.
The author broke everything into small steps. If you are starting out in home care, this book is a must have. After each chapter, you have tasks to complete before you move on to the next chapter. Completing the tasks moves you closer to your dream of owning your own home care business. The book comes with sample forms that you may need. Their website also has very useful resources.
Simple, Easy To Read
I have worked in the geriatric arena for over 13 years with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s and education. With that said I can say I am NOT the most business savvy person in the world. Home Care How to opened my eyes to how to go about opening a Senior In Home Care Business. I would like to also say that I recently opened my own business in regards to Alzheimer’s and education and found it a useful guide even though I was not opening a In Home Care business.
I loved the way the author broke down what you needed to do to get your business off the ground. Opening a business, especially one where you are services people, of any kind is an overwhelming experince for most and I highly recommend you purchase and read and follow the easy steps in this book. I wish it would have been available when I started research in opening my education business. It would have saved me some heartache and time. I use it now as a guide and check list to see if I missed anything from the general perspective starting up my business.
